The Barrington High School Fine Arts Boosters is thrilled to once again offer $100 Fall lesson stipends to fine arts students for the 2025 - 2026 school year.
These stipends are open to ALL BHS students to help families offset the costs of lessons or classes and encourage supplemental instruction; they are not need based. Any BHS student taking lessons/classes outside of BHS in any area of the arts including band, orchestra, choir, acting, dance, visual arts, or TV production, is welcome to apply.
$100 will be awarded to 60 STUDENTS

Interlochen Center for the Arts was founded in 1928 and is located in beautiful northwest lower Michigan. Each year, thousands of artists and arts patrons come to Interlochen to experience world-class educational and cultural opportunities. Interlochen offers an extensive list of summer camps for young students who have a passion for the arts and are interested in studying music, theatre, visual arts, creative writing, motion picture arts or dance.
Award of the scholarship is dependent on the student being accepted into one of the Interlochen Summer Arts Camps in Michigan. The Lageshulte Interlochen Scholarship is awarded annually and will pay a maximum of $1000 of a student’s tuition to an Interlochen Summer Camp. It is available to any current Freshman or Sophomore in Barrington 220 who will spend at least two additional years in the district upon completion of an Interlochen Summer Camp.
Nancie Kozel-Tobison taught choir at Barrington High School for 18 years, sharing her passion and talent with thousands of students. The gift of music that she gave these students will live forever. In 2015, a scholarship fund was established in her honor to recognize her passion, love of music, and dedication to the students.
This scholarship is awarded annually to a senior who has made significant contributions to the BHS choir program and has provided outstanding leadership during his or her BHS career. Students are not required to pursue a post-high school education in the field of music.
Phil Mark was a much-loved choral director at Barrington High School. Unfortunately, he and his wife were tragically killed in a car accident in 1982. A scholarship fund was set up in his honor for a Barrington High School student who is interested in studying music education in college.
This $200 scholarship is awarded annually to a Barrington High School senior who will study music education in college.
